Name: Oklahoma Red Cedar Fm...Free Domestic Shipping (SOLD) $175.00 USD
Description: This Fm flute is 21-11/16” in length with a one inch bore diameter. In addition to the cedar, New Zealand Kauri bog wood was used at the mouthpiece, compression chamber, and cut as the fetish. This tree material is approximately 50,000 years old, and lived for about 2000 years before the tree fell into the chemically rich bog at the end of the last ice age, before man ventured out of Africa. The trees are huge, standing 200 ft. tall, and 40 ft in diameter. They are indigenous to New Zealand’s North Island where the species continues to grow.

Inlay for this flute begins at the mouthpiece with an 8mm cab of Spiny Oyster, flanked by 4.3mm dome cut turquoise cabs. As mentioned, the sides of the flute include 22mm disks of ancient Kauri while the sound chamber is accented with a 12mm quartz capped paua abalone cab and a 6mm abalone cab separating the L/R sets of finger holes. Lastly, the fetish is inlaid with a 6mm turquoise cab to the crown, and 2.2mm faceted Ceylon orange sapphires, set as eyes for the horse.

The finger holes are slightly dished on this flute, and purchase includes a slide off (removable) wrap of South Dakota prairie rattlesnake skin.

The flute was tuned at 72.1 degrees F, @ 62% humidity.
