This cherry flute is 21-1/2 inches in length with a one inch bore diameter. The mouthpiece is shaped from a bonding of cherry to Oklahoma red cedar, while the fetish is cut from additional cedar, bonded to a cedar base, which functions as a moisture barrier. Inlay at the mouthpiece consists of a 6mm quartz capped paua abalone cab, while the sound chamber includes a 12mm dome cut turquoise cab. The finger holes are accented with four 4mm abalone cabs and a 4.3mm turquoise cab. Lastly, the fetish block has a 6mm dome cut turquoise cab, set to the bird’s crown, and 2.3mm faceted Ceylon sapphires, set as eyes.
The finger holes are slightly dished, and each set of three is slightly offset from the centerline, left to right.
The flute was tuned at 72.9 degrees F, @ 59% humidity.
