So I found a local furniture maker who was willing/able to rip and rout 12 blanks of material for me, so I can continue building flutes for another year….God Willing. This mud brown material is another example of what the wood peddlers call “Rainbow” poplar. Highly mineralized, it just looks like mud. Tuned to Em with a one inch bore, additional woods include twice dyed box elder burl, amboyna burl and Oklahoma red cedar for moisture control. Additional materials include abalone, turquoise, Brazilian azotic topaz, labradorite, iron pyrite, and hematite. ….This particular instrument will be headed to the Sacred Rites shop in Sedona AZ in mid October….. Enjoy your Fall, and stay dry, or wet, depending on what your location is lacking, weather-wise.
